Eduardo Luís
Patriarca
Eduardo Luís Patriarca was born in 1970, in Oporto, Portugal. He studied Composition with Fernando Lapa, Cândido Lima, Filipe Pires, Amílcar Vasques-Dias and António Pinho Vargas. In the remaining areas he had as teachers Álvaro Salazar, Günther Arglebe, Miguel Ribeiro Pereira and José Luís Borges Coelho. Later, at the Lisbon School of Music he studied with António Pinho Vargas and Christopher Bochmann. During these years he was a student of Jorge Peixinho, and he attended Emmanuel Nunes’ Seminars at the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, as well as seminars with Wilfred Jenstchz, Gherard Staebler, António de Sousa Dias, Leo Brouwer and Philippe Hurel. As a teacher he lectured in Pedroso, Espinho, Maia, Mirandela and Póvoa de Varzim. His works have been played regularly at several locations in Portugal and abroad. In 2008 he began his Master Degree in Composition under the supervision of Isabel Soveral at the Aveiro University.
