Andréa Luiza
Teixeira
Andréa Luiza Teixeira studied Piano at the Federal University of Goiás, Brazil, and took a master's degree in Musicology at the Brazilian Conservatory of Music, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and a PhD in Musicology at NOVA, Lisbon, Portugal. She has worked as a pianist since 1993. She played at the Carnegie Hall in New York, Centro Nacional de las Artes in Mexico City, Venetian Theater in Macau and Teatro de São Carlos, Lisbon. She founded, with tenor Alberto Pacheco, the ensemble Academia dos Renascidos, whose objective is to promote Portuguese-Brazilian music. She has participated in several congresses of musicology in Brazil and abroad.
