Pacheco
He is a Professor of Music at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ). Born in the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais, he debuted in 1994 as a solo tenor at the Choir of the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP), Grupo Zíper na Boca. Since then, he has shown himself to be a very versatile interpreter, although he specialized in the repertoire of the eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries. He is graduated in Music from UNICAMP. In 2007, he finished his Doctorate in Music at UNICAMP, during which he developed research on vocal practice in Rio de Janeiro in the beginning of the 19th century, always with the financial support of FAPESP. This doctorate established the career of the author not only as a researcher in interpretive practices, but also as a musicologist. Pacheco is also a researcher at the Centro de Estudos de Sociologia e Estética Musical (CESEM) at NOVA, Lisbon.
