Since its debut in 2000, Remix Ensemble has already performed the world premieres of more than ninety new works and has collaborated with some of the world’s most sought-after conductors, including Peter Rundel, Peter Eötvös, Heinz Holliger, Reinbert de Leeuw, Emilio Pomàrico, Ilan Volkov, Matthias Pintscher, Franck Ollu, Baldur Brönnimann and Olari Elts, amongst others. Stefan Asbury was Remix Ensemble first principal conductor. Aside from its regular season at Casa da Música, Remix Ensemble has performed at the most renowned European concert halls and festivals: Paris, Vienna, Berlin, Köln, Zürich, Hamburg, Donaueschingen, Antwerp, Brussels, Milan, Budapest, Strasbourg, Amsterdam, Witten, Rotterdam, Luxemburg, Huddersfield, Orleans, Bourges, Toulouse, Reims, Norrköping, Barcelona, Madrid, Valence, Ourense; including festivals such as Wiener Festwochen and Wien Modern (Vienna), Agora (IRCAM – Paris), Printemps des Arts (Monte Carlo), Musica Strasbourg and Donaueschinger Musiktage. It was the first Portuguese orchestra to perform a concert at the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, in 22 September 2020. World premieres included commissions from Wolfgang Rihm, Georg Friedrich Haas, Wolfgang Mitterer, Francesco Filidei and Daniel Moreira, and works by Pascal Dusapin, Georges Aperghis and Peter Eötvös. The prestigious Gramophone music magazine has included the CD featuring works by Pascal Dusapin in its Critics’ Choice of 2013.
