Bernardino
Paulo Bernardino (1973) is a researcher, teacher, composer, organist and pianist. He holds a degree in electrical engineering from the University of Coimbra (1998) and in sacred music from the Universidade Católica Portuguesa, Porto (2003). He is the author of several studies on Manuel Faria’s work. Whilst pursuing his PhD in choral conducting at the University of Aveiro, Paulo Bernardino conducted the João Rodrigues de Deus Choir (Penela), the Tuna Choir of Perosinho (Gaia), and the Choral Group of Urrô (Arouca). He is one of the founders of the Manuel Faria Ensemble. He has also taught at the Diocesan School of Sacred Music in Coimbra since 1994, simultaneously holding the position of organist of the Cathedral of Coimbra. In 2002 he was named the official organist of this same cathedral. Since 2007 he has occupied the same position at the Chapel of the University of Coimbra.
