Carla Caramujo
Portuguese soprano Carla Caramujo is a graduate of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, where she completed her Bachelors, Masters in Performance and Opera Course with distinction. She is also a Samling Artist.
Carla is a winner of the Luísa Todi National Singing Competition (Portugal), the Musikförderpreis der Hans-Sachs-Loge (Germany), Chevron Excellence, Ye Cronies and Dewar Awards (United Kingdom).
Carla worked with stage directors and conducters such as Emilio Sagi, Paul Curran, Katharina Thalbach, André Heller-Lopes, Annilese Miskimmon, James Bonas, Antonio Pirolli, Hannu Lintu, João Paulo Santos, Julia Jones, Domenico Longo, Joana Carneiro, Tobias Volkmann, José Miguel Esandi, Johannes Stert, Nicholas Kraemer, Marcos Magalhães, Alexander Polyanichko, Pedro Neves, Pedro Carneiro, Nuno Coelho, Jorge Matta, Yi-Chen Lin, Priscila Bomfim and Christian Curnyn.
Carla Caramujo recorded Pedro Camacho’s Requiem for Inês de Castro, a finalist in the 2019 Grammy nominations, António Fragoso’s Complete Songs with pianist João Paulo Santos (Framart 2018), Domitila by João Guilherme Ripper with Toy Ensemble (MPMP 2020) and the role of Flamínia in Il Mondo della Luna by Avondano with Os músicos do Tejo (Naxos 2020).
