B.U.B.A.
João Pedro Soeiro, also known as B.U.B.A., was born in Lisbon, Portugal, in 1983. He started studying music at the age of 19, at the Academia de Amadores de Musica, but his enthusiasm, together with his hard-work and determination, led him to be accepted at the prestigious Gnessin Academy of Music, in Moscow, in 2009, to the piano studio of Professor Maria Gambarian, one of Russia's most legendary living pianists and pedagogues. He concluded his Bachelor's degree in Piano Performance there in 2013. As a composer, his work includes the music for the romantic comedy “Alguém Como Eu” (Gullane/Stopline) and the soundtrack for the documentary “Vizinhos Vicini Buren Nachbarn Neighbours” (SIC), which was a commission for the Venice Biennale. Before that, he wrote additional music for the thriller “Wake Me Up” (Cinetrain) and played the piano solos for the drama “The Lost Reflection” (Russian Film Group). In 2013 he was awarded a scholarship to study at Berklee College of Music, Valencia Campus, from where he graduated with honours with a Master's degree in Scoring for Film, Television and Video Games. There he had the chance to learn from and be guided by such names as Lucio Godoy, Alfons Conde, Vanessa Garde, Ben Houge, Ben Cantil and Constantino Martínez Orts.
