Armando
Possante

The Portuguese baritone, music director and pedagogue Armando Possante (1972-) studied at the Instituto Gregoriano de Lisboa. He graduated at the Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa where he studied with Luís Madureira. He began his singing studies in 1988 with Mariana Bonito d’Oliveira. He also travelled regularity to Vienna, where he studied with Hilde Zadek. He won the 3rd prize at the Concurso Vozes Ibéricas, the 3rd prize at the Concurso Nacional de Canto Luísa Todi and the 1st prize in Concurso de Interpretação do Estoril. He is Music Director and soloist of Grupo Vocal Olisipo. He performs regularly as a concerto soloist and in recital, having also played leading roles in opera. He teaches at the Instituto Gregoriano de Lisboa (since 1993) and at the Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa (since 2006).
