André Baleiro

Baritone André Baleiro is the winner of the Emmerich Smola SWR Young Opera Stars Award (Kaiserslautern, 2019), the 17th International Robert Schumann Competition (Zwickau, 2016) and the 9th Rotary Foundation Singing Competition (Lisbon, 2016). He was awarded a special prize for Most Promising Talent at the Das Lied Competition (Heidelberg, 2017) and further prizes at the Helmut Deutsch Lied Competition (Vienna, 2021) and the 11th Schubert and Modern Music Competition (Graz, 2022). Devoting a special interest to modern and contemporary vocal music, Baleiro has premiered songs by Steffen Schleiermacher, Manfred Trojahn, Luca Lombardi and Michael Pelzel at the Liederwerkstatt of the Kissinger Sommer Festival (Germany). Baleiro studied voice at the University of the Arts in Berlin with Kammersänger Siegfried Lorenz, as well as Lied interpretation with Axel Bauni and Eric Schneider. He is currently pursuing his artistic and technical development with Snežana Stamenković.
