Santos

David Santos is a Honorary Professor for Lied Interpretation at the University of Music and Theater in Mannheim and Lecturer for Piano at the University of the Arts (UdK) in Berlin. He owes decisive impulses for his artistic work to his intensive studies with pianists Leonard Hokanson, Irwin Gage and Axel Bauni. In 2009 he was awarded the first prizes at the 7th International Competition Franz Schubert and Modern Music in Graz, Austria and the 1st International Schubert Competition for Lied Duos in Dortmund, Germany. Santos has played in distinguished halls like the Konzerthaus and the Philharmonie in Berlin, the State Opera Theaters in Kassel and Meiningen, the São Carlos Opera House in Lisbon, the Arts Center deSingel in Antwerpen and the Tonhalle Zürich as well as at the Macau Music Festival (China) and the Tanglewood Music Festival (USA). He was Lecturer for Lied Interpretation at the University of Music Franz Liszt in Weimar (2010-2019) and has given masterclasses in Portugal, Brazil, Germany and Finland.
