Ana Castanhito


Ana Castanhito began her musical studies at the National Conservatory, Portugal, at age 13, in Clotilde Rosa's harp class. Seven years later, she finished the eighth grade with the highest grade, in the class of teacher Andreia Marques. She studied at the Royal College of Music, in London, with Ieuan Jones. She participated in masterclasses with important harpists such as Marisa Robles, Jana Buskova, Daphne Boden, Imogen Barford, Lisetta Rossi, among others. As harpist of the symphony orchestra of the Royal College of Music, Ana had the opportunity to work with conductors such as Vladimir Ashkenazi, Esa-Pekka Salonen, Leif Segerstam, Peter Stark and John Wilson. She has been an effective member of the Lisbon Contemporary Music Group since 2010.
