Isolda Crespi Rubio
Born in Barcelona, is a pianist and educator based in Portugal. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Piano from the Royal College of Music in London, where she studied with John Barstow. In 2013, she completed a Master of Science in Music Education at Universidade Católica Portuguesa (Porto), publishing her thesis titled “The Invisible Professor: The influence of the piano accompanist on the musical education of instrumental students” with Novas Edições Académicas.
She has performed widely as a soloist and collaborative pianist in Spain, Portugal, France, Switzerland, the Netherlands, the UK, Denmark, Brazil, and South Korea. Isolda has worked with renowned international musicians such as Catalin Rotaru, Maté Szűcs, Ian Bousfield, Stefan Schulz, Vincent Lucas, Alberto Bocini, and Jean-Louis Capezzali, and has accompanied masterclasses by Mischa Maisky, Nobuko Imai, Nathan Braude, Svetlin Roussev, and Maté Szűcs.
She has appeared as a soloist with the Orquestra de Guimarães and the ARTAVE Orchestra and has given piano masterclasses in Portugal and Brazil. Isolda has recorded for labels including Numérica, Artway, NBB Records, and the Ring of Engelbert Schmid Horn Soloists project. She is also a co-founder of Ibertrio (violin, cello, and piano trio), performing across Portugal, Spain, and the Netherlands.
Currently, she is a collaborative pianist at the Escola Superior de Artes Aplicadas (Castelo Branco), Universidade do Minho (Braga), and the Escola Profissional Artística do Vale do Ave (ARTAVE).
