Música Nova
Created in 1973 by composer Cândido Lima, Grupo Música Nova was an ensemble devoted to contemporary music, having performed for the first time in Portugal composers such as Iannis Xenakis, Karlheinz Stockhausen, Pascal Dusapin, Tristan Murail, Cândido Lima, Jorge Peixinho, Amílcar Vasques-Dias, Wilfried Jentzsch, Jean-Battiste Barrière, Kaija Saariaho, or welcoming musicians such as Stefano Scodanibio. Grupo Música Nova made his first public presentation in 1976 at the Ateneu Comercial do Porto, followed by other presentations on radio and television.
