Pereira Martins
Born in Lisbon, Pereira Martins has studied piano at Conservatório Nacional, with Hélder Entrudo and Carla Seixas, and at Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa, with Jorge Moyano. He has received several prizes in piano competitions and regularly goes on solo and chamber music performances. Duarte is one of the founders of MPMP Património Musical Vivo, an association that, since 2010, promotes Portuguese classical music. He has premiered works of composers such as João Pedro Oliveira, Sérgio Azevedo, Hugo Ribeiro, Edward Luiz Ayres d’Abreu, Eli Camargo Jr., Luís Salgueiro or Amílcar Vasques-Dias. His first CD, La fièvre du temps, concerning works for four-handed piano with Philippe Marques, focus on ballet music of Ruy Coelho, Lopes-Graça, Stravinsky and Ravel. He cooperates regularly with Glosas, a musical magazine on which he has been executive director between 2017 and 2019. He has already produced and coordinated some recordings. Duarte is now finishing his Master’s degree in Cultural Management, at ISCTE.
