Brito Dias
Carlos Brito Dias (1991-) is developing his PhD in the Arts, at the U. Antwerp and Royal Conservatory of Antwerp, supervised P. Gielen and W. Henderickx. He also studies Conducting with B. Bouckaert at Royal Conservatory of Brussels. Graduated in Composition at ESMAE (Porto), Brito Dias attended seminars and masterclasses of Composition (P. Dusapin, K. Saariaho, W. Mitterer, E. Nunes, I. Fedele, C. Iannotta), Musical Pedagogy and Conducting. Brito Dias worked with several conductors such as D. Spouras, K. Deseure, P. Rundel, and with different ensembles and orchestras (ensemble recherche, Champdaction, Remix Ensemble, Antwerp Symphony Orchestra, Logos Foundation, HERMESensemble, Symphony Orchestra of Ruse). His works have been performed in Belgium, Bulgaria, The Netherlands, Germany and Portugal. Since Sept. 2018, he has been Composer in Residence of Antwerpen Camerata, where he has also been assistant conductor. He has been a Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation Scholar since 2019.
