Ensemble

Vocal Ensemble was founded in 1998 as a research group for historical vocal chamber music. Under Vasco Negreiros’ direction is has mainly focused on Portuguese music of the cinquecento and seicento as well as on composers such as Ockeghem, Gesualdo, Schein or Orlando di Lasso. With acclaimed published works (Frei Manuel Cardoso, 2005, Duarte Lobo, 2007) and sponsored by the Ministry for the Arts it has presented itself in Germany, the United Kingdom, France, Brazil and Spain, being regularly invited to international festivals such as Ávila and Daroca.
