Born into a family of musicians, Pedro Ferro began his musical studies with Maria Fernanda Chichorro and, later on, he continued his studies at the Conservatório Nacional, Lisbon, in Melina Rebelo’s class. After studying under Tânia Achot (Piano) and Olga Prats (Chamber Music) at the Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa, Pedro Ferro concluded his degree in Piano. He obtained his Master’s degree in Performance from the Universidade de Évora, under the supervision of António Rosado and Christopher Bochmann. He also concluded a Master’s degree in Music Pedagogy under the guidance of Jorge Moyano. Throughout his academic career, he received orientation of Francisco Sassetti and Maria João Pires, and he has participated in masterclasses with Helena Sá e Costa, Paul Badura-Skoda, Pedro Burmester, Sequeira Costa and Vladimir Viardo. He was awarded in several national competitions. In 1999, Pedro Ferro received a “Yamaha Scholarship” awarded by the Yamaha Musical Foundation of Europe.
