Gal
Michel Gal was born in France and attended the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Paris, where he won the 1st Prize for Piano in the class of Pierre Sancan and the 1st Prize for Chamber Music in the class of Geneviève Joie. Later, at the same institution, he completed the third piano cycle, having then developed his piano training with Dimitri Bashkirov, Georg Sebok and Paul Badura‑Skoda. He was awarded in several international piano competitions: honorable mention at the Marguerite Long International Competition in Paris; 2nd Prize in the Maria Canals International Competition, in Barcelona; 4th Prize at the Viotti International Competition, in Vercelli; and 3rd Prize in the José Iturbi International Competition, in Valencia. Michel Gal was a piano teacher at the Conservatory of Chevreuse, in France, before settling in Portugal. He is a professor at the Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa and at the Academia de Amadores de Música.
