Born in Covilhã, pianist Lígia Madeira (1983-) studied at the Conservatory of Music of Porto, in the class of Maria José Souza Guedes, where she concluded the Complementary Piano Course with the highest classification. She has since participated in masterclasses guided by Helena Sá e Costa, Jörg Demus, Anne Queffélec, Jacqueline Bourgès-Maunoury, Pascal Devoyon, Sequeira Costa and Vitaly Margulis, among others. During a very significant part of her training, she studied with Madalena Soveral at ESMAE, with whom she completed her Piano Degree and completed her Master's studies in Artistic Interpretation. In parallel, she studied under the Erasmus program at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest, with István Lantos, and completed a postgraduate degree in piano at the Zaragoza Conservatory of Music under the guidance of Josep Colom, Dominique Weber and Elisabeth Leonskaya. In 2014, she completed her Masters in Music Teaching at the University of Aveiro. She is a piano teacher at the Porto Music Conservatory and at the Espinho Professional Music School.
