Portuguese composer João Quinteiro studied Composition at University of Aveiro with João Pedro Oliveira, Isabel Soveral and Evgueni Zoudilkine. He concluded a masters in Philosophy, specialising in Aesthetics at NOVA. He studied with Emmanuel Nunes, attending seminars at Gulbenkian Foundation as well as in Casa da Música in Oporto, and with Beat Furrer at the Kunstuniversiät in Graz. Since 2015 he teaches Composition Techniques and Analysis in Tomar and Ourém. In 2017 was co-founder of the Portuguese Association of Composers, of which he is part of the board of Directors and where he has dedicates himself to developing projects focused on promoting and divulging contemporary music in Portugal. His music has been performed and commissioned by groups as the Gulbenkian Orchestra, Lisbon Ensemble 20/21, GMCL, Astrus Duo and Vertixe Sonora.
