João-Heitor Rigaud


João-Heitor Rigaud (1956-2022) was born in Oporto, Portugal. He was the first student enrolled at the Braga Conservatory, which he attended regularly until 1973. Between 1973 and 1980, at Academia Parnaso, he studied Harmony, Counterpoint, Orchestration and Musical Composition with Fernando Corrêa de Oliveira. He completed his studies at the Conservatory of Music of Geneva, within the minimum period allowed, three academic years, completing the highest level, Virtuosity, with a first Prize by unanimous deliberation of the jury. Later, he finished a PhD at the University of Oporto within a research project on João Arroyo.
