Costa Ferreira has performed in concert halls in Portugal, Spain, France, Belgium and the Netherlands. He holds the “Diplôme Supérieur d’Exécution” of the Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris / Alfred Cortot, where he studied with Marian Rybicki and Guigla Katsarava. He is also a researcher Graduated and Master in Music and Musicology by Paris-Sorbonne University, institution where he taught as tutor. As fellowship of the Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia, he is currently doing a Doctoral program in that University under the direction of musicologist and philosopher Danielle Cohen-Levinas, studying José Vianna da Motta’s pianistic writing, technique and interpretation through his works. He has won several prizes notably the 2nd prize in the XV Maria Campina International Piano Competition (1st prize not awarded) and the 1st “Musicology” prize in the 8th “Jeunes solistes de la Sorbonne” Competition. In 2015, he was awarded by Cap Magellan with the prize “Best Artistic Revelation” on the celebration of the Portuguese Republic held in the halls of the Hôtel de Ville in Paris. In 2019, he was awarded by INATEL Leiria with the “Prémio Cultura – Música”. He is currently perfecting four-hand piano repertoire with pianist Bruno Belthoise. He has performed several times as soloist with orchestras under the direction of conductors Alberto Roque and Ernst Schelle.
