Son of Henrique Burnay, the 1st Count of Burnay, Eduardo (1877-1926) was a well-known pianist in Lisbon. He studied with Alexandre Rey Colaço. As a composer, he wrote 'fados' and 'waltzes'. At the beginning of the 20th-Century, Pedro Blanch orchestrated his most famous Fado; it has become one of the most popular and enduring instrumental fado pieces in Portugal.
