Contracello
Duo Contracello started its activity in 1993. It was created by Miguel Rocha, cello, and Adriano Aguiar, double bass. In addition to their presentations in Portugal (such as Music Festivals in Espinho, Leiria, Porto 2001 European Capital of Culture, Centro Cultural de Belém and Festival CRIASONS), Duo Contracello performed in Spain, France (Festival d'Ile de France ), Switzerland and in the United States of America. His repertoire, which extends from Couperin to Berio, is constantly enriched with original works by Pedro Rocha, Carlos Azevedo, Evgueni Zoudilkine, Sérgio Azevedo, Paulo Jorge Ferreira, António Victorino d'Almeida and César Viana. Duo Contracello's first CD was published at the end of 1996, with the support of the Ministry of Culture, and includes works by Joseph Bodin de Boismortier, Ignaz Pleyel, Gioacchino Rossini and Alexandre Delgado. The second was released in October 2006, the third in 2011.
