Born in 1967, Portuguese conductor Alberto Roque studied at the National Superior Academy of Orchestra, in Lisbon. In 1998, he won the first prize in the International Contest of Fundação Oriente for Young Conductors. Since 2004, he has been conducting the Lisbon College of Music Wind Ensemble. He created a Wind Conducting Class and the chamber winds “Camerata de Sopros Silva Dionísio”, recording their first CD, New Harmoniemusik. He worked as guest conductor with some of the Portuguese Orchestras and some symphonic bands like Banda Sinfónica de Madrid, Israel National Youth Wind Orchestra and Blasorchester Südwind. He was member of the Artistic Planning Committee of WASBE´s Conferences,Chiayi City, Taiwan, and Utrecht (The Netherland). In 2016, he joined the Sherborne Summer School of Music. He is a founding member of Saxofínia Saxophone Quartet and of the project “Concerts for Babies” of Musicalmente Company.
